The five counties of the North West of England all have an identity unique to themselves, which makes planning a wedding in the area ripe with opportunity.
Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside all have much to offer in terms of personal culture, history and landscape which are all defining aspects of their hospitality and hotels as well.
The mere geography of the area is enough to talk about for some weeks, with the Peak District and Pennines binding it to the east and the Irish Sea fringing it to the West. The Scottish borders and North Wales bringing in their own aspects and of course there are famed markers in the landscape such as Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, which makes for a particularly special backdrop for any wedding.
With that in mind, you can see the versatility of the area when it comes to wedding planning. The likes of Borrowdale Gates in its wooded grounds capitalise on superb locally produce food as well as the scenic location, while somewhere like Northcote has a luxurious contemporary style that adds an extra touch of glamour to its country chic vibe.
Then again, the cities of the North West have a buzzing culture that adds an extra sense of fun and conviviality to a wedding party. In the centre of Liverpool for example, where music and art remain vibrant, somewhere like Hope Street Hotel, in the city’s cultural quarter, are utterly contemporary but sing with the historic inspiration that brought us The Beatles.
