‘A delightful pub in a quiet village’, this 17th-century coaching inn is on the Chatsworth estate. The original bar, which serves local ales, has oak beams, flagged floor, log fires; the brasserie extension has a colourful, contemporary decor. Four rooms are in the inn; others (some dog-friendly) are in three neighbouring cottages.
