A famous festival and World Heritage Site

Also in August take part in the Edinburgh International Book Festival, attracting top authors, and see the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo where almost a thousand musicians, pipers, drummers, singers and dancers perform at the castle. Don’t forget to climb to the top of Arthur’s Seat – a hill about a mile from the castle – to get an amazing view.
