Good Hotel Guide Review

This delightfully eccentric boutique B&B, a stroll from Torquay’s seafront, has won numerous awards for its singular style and luxurious standards. Run with great warmth by Andy and Julian Banner-Price, it is known for its funky features, state-of-the-art touches and fastidious attention to detail. Bedrooms and suites are strikingly decorated: perhaps a zebra head above an Art Deco-style bedhead, an oversized silver headboard against a sparkly purple wall, or a giant orange gerbera mural and tangerine-accented furniture. All have smart room controls, bathrobes, coffee machines and daily home-made treats, while bathrooms, with power showers – two also with baths – are sleek in grey and white. Relax with a drink from the honesty bar in the Edwardian-style drawing room or on the terrace with its palms and chic furniture. Breakfast is a feast, with home-made granola and smoothies, eggs scrambled with butter and cream, sausage muffins, and the full English with vegan and vegetarian options. Order a tapas-style ‘grazing box’ (48 hours’ notice required) for evenings in or picnics, or Andy and Julian will advise on local restaurants.

Comments about The 25 Boutique B&B

Stylish, well equipped. Julian could not be more professional. The bedroom was amazing, with mood lighting, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and many coat hangers; a television inside the shower enclosure. Breakfast downstairs in a well-lit and beautifully decorated room. The menu had all one could ask for. - Neil Hamilton - October 2017
Our third stay, in a different room again. The Watcombe Suite has a lovely sitting room. The bedroom has a super-king-size bed. The bathroom is amazing, with a super hi-tec Mira shower and mood lighting. Andy and Julian are the best of hosts, always there should you need them. They have an excellent knowledge of the local area. The breakfast service is outstanding, from the delicious items on the sideboard to the cooked-to-order hot food. A warm welcome always awaits us. And Patsy the miniature Schnauzer is a delight. - Clive Fuller-Hale - June 2017
This small B&B offers more amenities than many larger and more prestigious properties we have stayed in. The tea and coffee making kit was lavish and we had fresh baked treats each day. The breakfast menu and buffet were worthy of a five-star hotel. The owners go out of their way to be helpful. The common areas, lounge and dining room are meticulously maintained. - PF - May 2017
