Good Hotel Guide Review
Enjoying ‘the most magical location right on the cliff edge overlooking the beach’, this relaxed family and dog-friendly hotel makes the most of the coastal views. You first notice them through the ‘spectacular glass windows’ in the bar and café, perfect for lazy summer days or storm watching in winter, but sea vistas are also on show from some of the simple, contemporary bedrooms. A guide insider had ‘massive sash windows’ offsetting the watery views from their room, making up for the ‘small but adequate’ bathroom. The hotel offers a flexible approach to hospitality, with an all-day menu featuring people-pleasing dishes, from wood-fired pizzas, beef or falafel burgers and fish and chips, to chargrilled steak, herb-crusted fish of the day, and lobster. ‘The food was incredibly fresh and extremely flavoursome.’ A free-and-easy ambience includes alfresco dining, cocktails and cream teas, spa treatments, a health club, swimming pools, a gym, hot tub and tennis court. There are water sports for the kids during the day and baby listening at night. The hotel’s own cove is a ten-minute walk away, and the South West Coast Path runs right by.
