Good Hotel Guide Review
The farmhouse on the Evans family's working farm has been elegantly styled with wallpaper and furnishings faithful to its Georgian origins, while outbuildings have been used to create more rustic-chic suites. One dual-aspect house room has a king-size four-poster, a log-burner in an original fireplace, an in-room double-ended copper bath. An attic suite runs the length of the house. The food is ‘excellent (though not high-falutin’), with at least five to nine vegetables served with every main course’. Typical dishes might include venison loin with blackberry sauce, or chicken ballotine with basil mash. ‘Omelettes were a highlight at breakfast.’ Beaches, the coastal path and Britain’s smallest city are a short drive away.
