Good Hotel Guide Review

Readers can't stop raving about the 'impeccably furnished rooms, lovingly manicured garden and well-stocked library' at this adults-only B&B in countryside outside the village of ‘Egg-lis-oo-roo’, with views to the Preseli hills and Carningli mountain. From the shell of a single-storey wartime hostel that once housed land girls, ‘consummate hoteliers’ Robert Smith and Arwel Hughes have created a relaxing and luxurious place to stay. Guests are greeted warmly on arrival with tea and cakes. 'Our room (Carn Menyn) was a delight,' reported one guest. 'Bathrooms are particularly notable – massive and well equipped,' said another. We hear perennial praise for the hosts’ ‘meticulous attention to detail’, which includes fresh milk in a mini-fridge. At night, by arrangement, the table is set in the beamed dining room for a 'delightful dinner’. 'We had coffee and chocolates in the conservatory afterwards as we watched the sun go down across the scenic garden while house martins swooped over the pond.' Bring your own wine; they charge no corkage. ‘Breakfast is exceptional and generous beyond belief.' (David Jones, Dan Soh, and many others)
