Good Hotel Guide Review
In the centre of a lively market town within walking distance of the Shropshire hills, this ‘splendid’ B&B is run by Diane Chadwick, a ‘wonderfully energetic’ and ‘cheerful’ hostess. The Victorian townhouse has ‘well-priced, convenient’ accommodation in ‘comfortable’ bedrooms, each ‘tastefully decorated’ with artworks and antiques that lend much character, and generously supplied with bathrobes and toiletries, teas, coffee, hot chocolate, sherry and biscuits. Breakfast is served in a garden-facing room and brings freshly baked pastries, sausages from locally reared pigs, ‘particularly delicious mushrooms cooked in butter’. Light lunches and sweet treats are taken in the cosy, on-site café, Jemima’s Kitchen. (AL Thackray)
