Good Hotel Guide Review
A French-influenced building on the harbourside, this family-friendly hotel and local hub was extensively refurbished by new owners the Original Collection in 2018 (see Forss House). Bedrooms have contemporary furnishings, king-size beds, restful, muted colours with accents of charcoal. The views are of the harbour and waterborne traffic, rooftops and hills. Light bites and pub fare are served in Skippers Bar, more than 100 whiskies in the Highland Park Bar. In the restaurant, the menu ranges from fish and chips and burgers to lobster, Scapa Flow langoustines, seafood platters, steaks and plant-based options. Breakfast includes a full Orcadian with haggis and black pudding, full veggie, kippers with herb butter.
