Good Hotel Guide Review
With many features dating from the 15th century, this well-restored old farmhouse stands in large, landscaped gardens amid serene countryside. The hotel and restaurant, part of the Nye family’s Anglian Country Inns, have intimate sitting areas and warming fires in inglenook fireplaces. The rustic Orangery restaurant opens onto a woodland dell with a ‘bug hotel’. Enjoy cocktails, wines or real ales before settling down to chef Sherwin Jacobs’s Modern British dishes. Pretty bedrooms, some recently refurbished, with exposed brickwork, wood floors and beams are in the main house, converted stables and Grade II-listed barn across the courtyard. In the morning, a fine breakfast menu includes a 'farmhouse full English' or strawberries and raspberries with Greek yoghurt. Circular walks start at the bottom of the garden.
