Good Hotel Guide Review
Arrive on Sark and horses Ronaldo or Willow can be there to collect you, with maybe an 1850s Ferrari Victoria in tow. Carriage drives are just one of the joys of a stay at this hotel, in beautiful gardens, on a car-free, dark-sky island, where the pace of life slows to a gentle clip-clop. Bedrooms are located in a Georgian granite farmhouse, 19th-century dower house and above the old stables. Some interconnect, some have kids’ bunks. The style is contemporary and unfussy, with pale paintwork and fresh flowers. Produce for restaurant, bar and bistro is sourced from local farmers and fishermen or grown in the hotel’s organic market garden. Menus include fish and chips, steak, lobster, vegan burger and market fish of the day. In summer, eat poolside – maybe a cream tea or Guernsey ice cream.
