Good Hotel Guide Review
New owners have lavished millions on this Georgian hotel in a New Forest yachting town on the edge of the Solent. Accommodation ranges from snug but chic loft rooms to luxury suites, some with a balcony or dual-aspect windows. Terrace rooms with garden access are dog friendly. Paint finishes are subtle and Georgian inspired. For drinks there is the softly lit Salt Bar. The Orangery, with glass apex ceiling, flagged floors and dolly-mixture palette, is a relaxing space for lunch, coffee or afternoon tea, while Samphire – with exuberant pink and purple Colefax & Fowler floral wallpaper – features an eclectic menu including sharing boards, burgers, lobster macaroni, fishcakes and aubergine katsu curry.
