This stone-built parador stands on a cliff-top overlooking the harbour and marina of the lushest and least spoilt island in the Canaries. Visitors wrote: ‘Our comfortable room had garden view, air conditioning and a roof fan (very Raffles), lots of hanging space, spacious, well-lit bathroom equipped with useful items (comb, toothpaste, etc).’ Dinner is served in the ‘fine, large restaurant with well-spaced tables’. ‘It gets off to a good start: complimentary glass of sparkling wine and an amuse-bouche’; thereafter it was found a bit variable: ‘good rabbit, pork fillet not so good; good puddings; long wine list’. Breakfast was thought ‘excellent’. Lots of sitting areas: alcoves and patios. In the well-kept gardens, ‘the swimming pool is large, and wonderfully located to catch as much sun as possible’.
