Good Hotel Guide Review
A stone’s throw from Midtown East’s Bryant Park and Grand Central Station sits this welcoming, intimate, boutique hotel with a sophisticated feel. The theme is books (the Dewey Decimal System), and 6,000 of them inspire the décor in the rooms and public areas. Drawing inspiration from the 10 categories of knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System, each clean and cozy room has a unique concept, which includes bookshelves thoughtfully stocked with books from the relevant category. All have a bath. There is, of course, a peaceful Reading Room where a complimentary continental buffet breakfast can be enjoyed each morning and snacks throughout the day. From 5 to 8pm each evening, a complimentary wine and cheese reception takes place in the Reading Room as well. There is an outside rooftop lounge area that transforms into a bar after 4pm and is open to the public. Service is personal and friendly, and the aim is to make guests feel like family.
