Good Hotel Guide Review
Overlooking the Tywi estuary, this contemporary restaurant-with-rooms in a restored Georgian mansion is enjoyed by readers for its ‘really lovely hospitality, food and accommodation’. It is owned and run by Carmarthenshire native Wendy Beaney and her husband, David. Uncluttered bedrooms with garden or river views are supplied with bathrobes and Welsh toiletries. Two ground-floor rooms interconnect; one has a private garden terrace. From the period dining room, the beautiful view is a fine accompaniment for Paul Owen’s seasonal menus of locally farmed vegetables, Welsh meats and Carmarthen Bay seafood. Discover Norman castles at Llansteffan, and, half an hour’s drive away, Dylan Thomas landmarks in Laugharne.
