Good Hotel Guide Review
A Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms is accompanied by Grade I-listed woodland and lake gardens plus a vineyard. In an Italianate mansion, the serenely beautiful bedrooms all have a subtle palette, designer fabrics and wallpaper (William Morris’s ‘Meadowsweet’, Colefax and Fowler’s ‘Bowood’ roses…), a chandelier, espresso machine, rainfall shower; most have a roll-top bath too. In Interlude, Jean Delport’s theatrically presented tasting menus are themed around ingredients produced or foraged on the estate, in dishes such as onion, forest ashes; halibut, elderflower, joie de vivre. If the full Monty is beyond your budget (and it is expensive), you can always take afternoon tea, or order a vineyard or garden picnic.
