Good Hotel Guide Review
In a small town in the foothills of the Dolomites (excellent for visiting the Palladian villas) stands this ‘wonderful’ hotel. ‘Beautiful flower garden, infinity pool, perfect service, excellent breakfast.’ Asolo is ‘a lively medieval gem with two castles and innumerable little buildings all of interest’. Once the home of Robert Browning, this luxury hotel stands amid olive and cypress trees and from its infinity swimming pool (once named the best outdoor swimming pool in Italy) has extensive views over the surrounding countryside. Queen Elizabeth II is one of many dignitaries who have stayed. Some rooms are small, but the best are ‘spacious with a glorious outlook’. (Carol Heaton, Keith Salway)
