Good Hotel Guide Review
All of the grandeur of the former Edwardian Shire Hall has been retained in this hotel, now part of the India-based Roseate group. The splendid original interiors lend themselves to opulence, with a cascading Italian chandelier, modern artworks, Impressionist landscapes, and designer floor coverings. From an immaculate, ultra-modern balcony room in new-built ‘The House’ to the exotic four-poster Roseate Suite with dining area and working fire, everything speaks of luxury. In the Reading Room, and in the Secret Garden, with waterfall wall and pomegranate tree, you can eat casually from an all-day menu or dress up and indulge in fine dining; chill out or work out at the spa and gym a stroll away. Vegans won’t go hungry.
