Good Hotel Guide Review
Within strolling distance of the town and the beach, this eco-friendly hotel is in a handsome Victorian clifftop villa. Its many sustainable initiatives include a community vegetable garden, responsibly sourced furnishings, solar panels and beehives on the roof. Bedrooms (some snug) are smartly decorated in pleasing, earthy tones. They have ‘crisp’ organic bed linens on comfortable beds, and bathrobes and slippers. Bathrooms have a natural stone handbasin and perhaps even a reclaimed Victorian roll-top bath. Rear rooms are quietest. In Arbor restaurant and on the terrace, uncomplicated but imaginative seasonal dishes use organic, Fairtrade and locally sourced ingredients. Readers praise the warm, efficient staff.
