Good Hotel Guide Review
In a relatively quiet part of the city, by the Accademia, this 14th-century palazzo is part of the Design Hotels group. Named after Vettor Pisani, the great admiral of the ancient republic, it is owned and run by Gianni and Marianna Serandrei. The decor is Italian futurist and Art Deco. Visitor comments: ‘In many ways a design masterpiece.’ ‘A fab bed. We loved the room: high ceilings with original beams incorporated into Art Deco. Done by Italians it works.’ ‘A stunning split-level studio.’ ‘Air conditioning noisy (they will turn it off if you ask).’ Some guests find the banks of light switches ‘seriously confusing’. The rooftop terrace has ‘atmospheric views’ and the La Rivista restaurant serves Venetian cuisine with a modern twist. Sitting areas on most floors provide a ‘peaceful refuge’. Some cheaper rooms face the blank wall of the Accademia. ‘Charming reception staff, so helpful.’ ‘Good value, particularly for Venice.’ As well as free Wi-Fi throughout, there’s an internet point on the mezzanine level.
