Good Hotel Guide Review
Easily accessible from the A7 Autoroute du Soleil, and just 24 kilometres from Montélimar (which has a TGV station), the Delaitre family’s ‘exquisite’ ivy-covered, ochre-walled auberge is in a Rhône valley village perché known for its glazed pottery. Inside are tiled floors, wrought iron, and dried flowers. Each room is different: ‘Ours, small but charming, had Provençal fabrics, nice linens, geraniums in the window.’ Another reader says, ‘It was the favourite hotel of our trip, also the least expensive.’ Katy Delaitre offers ‘a warm welcome’, and chef Eric Richard provides ‘delicious’ regional food, eg, duck foie gras with a pear and raIsin chutney; rock lobster raviolis with baby spinach. There is an attractive lounge (‘lots of books and games’), and a ‘lovely shaded terrace’, with superb views over vineyards and hills, where drinks and breakfast can be served.
