Good Hotel Guide Review
In a village near Clermont-l’Hérault is this delightful small hotel, run since June 2014 by welcoming hosts Sonia and Sylvain Geindreau. ‘The rooms are simple and comfortable,’ says a reader. ‘The two overlooking the square are much the best’ (the others are said to be very dark). But church bells strike the hour all night ‘and ring a noisy angelus at seven in the morning’. Delicious dinners, home cooked and using local produce, are cooked by Sylvain every night, and breakfasts feature homemade jams. Next door to the hotel is Virgile Joly’s tiny cave, immortalised in Patrick Moon’s Virgile’s Vineyard; opposite is an auberge recommended for grills, casseroles and ‘superb local wines at reasonable prices’.
