Good Hotel Guide Review
In open country south of Montélimar, this creeper-covered 14th-century bastide was once an overnight stop for pilgrims. It is now a stylish little hotel, owned and run by Cyric Fressac, who is also the head chef. Rooms are contempory in style, with light colour and clean lines. Some have private terraces: ‘Our huge room had a huge balustraded balcony with tables, chairs and loungers,’ writes one correspondent. The dining room is ‘large and pretty’, and the cuisine is regional in style, using locally sourced products. Guests can take drinks on the lawn by the ‘delightful’ swimming pool, and dine on a lamp-lit patio. Food is ‘superb’ and service is friendly. There is a lovely walled garden at the back. ‘Close to the autoroute, yet quiet.’ Cooking lessons are available on two Saturday mornings a month (excluding July and August).
