Good Hotel Guide Review
By the harbour entrance and near Boulogne”s “odd little beach”, the Lestienne family”s restaurant-with-rooms is in two converted 1930s houses. Tony Lestienne, who specialises in seafood (one Michelin star), continues to win accolades from Guide correspondents. “By far the best meal of our holiday,” say visitors. “Well organised and stylish.” The grand, “rather masculine” decor — red and gold colour scheme, Louis XVI furniture, and “two adjacent staircases which climb up the centre” — is offset by eccentric touches. “in the restaurant are angels, cherubs and teddy bears.” “Bedrooms are comfortably modern, with good bathroom.” Front rooms have views of the “amazing” Nausicaa marine life centre next door, and sea and sunsets, but hear traffic. Breakfast is a generous buffet.
