Good Hotel Guide Review
This hotel’s most famous guest was Oscar Wilde, who died here when it was a rundown boarding house, but since then a number of celebrities have stayed here and continue to do so; a revamp by interior designer Jacques Garcia has helped ensure the hotel – and it’s bar – is a hip destination. Rooms are opulently decorated in a mishmash of velvet drapes, patterned wallpaper and original artworks, and with a dash of leopard print in the glamorous bar; a Michelin-starred restaurant and basement hammam pool add more touches of indulgence. Rooms are small and expensive and a bit too busy for some tastes, but many return again and again and rave about the excellent service.
