Good Hotel Guide Review
‘Romantically set’ in the Marais, on one of Paris’s loveliest squares, this handsome 17th-century building, with creeper-draped facade and pretty front courtyard, is an elegant hotel described by one repeat visitor as ‘a home away from home in Paris. Over the past 13 years I have stayed in most of the rooms’. The large, attractive lobby has heavy drapes, antiques, open fireplace, and lounge area. All bedrooms are different: some are spacious, with a modern four-poster bed and beams; some are small. Quietest rooms overlook a courtyard; a few face the street. ‘Our duplex suite on the top floor had beautiful decor, elegant bathroom.’ Breakfast, in a basement room, includes eggs and bacon, fruits, cereals, etc. There is 24-hour room service and a concierge desk, plus an iPad is available for guests’ use. Plenty of good restaurants are near.
