Good Hotel Guide Review
Considering its location (just behind the Ritz, and a short walk to the Louvre and the Tuileries) and its reputation for excellent service, the Mansart offers good value. Rooms are elegant, and furnished with old paintings and antiques. They are ‘always slightly quirky as usual in a hotel of this type, but they always have the basics. I always ask for one at the back so that I can throw the windows open,’ wrote a recent visitor. Staff are ‘pleasant and efficient’ and ‘always willing to go the extra mile’. Rooms vary in size, but the website lists their exact dimensions so there are no unpleasant surprises on arrival. Breakfast, with free international papers, includes eggs, sausage and bacon as well as cold meats, cheeses and the usual pastries, fruit and cereals. It is taken in an attractive room with stained glass windows which doubles up as a lounge and has an honesty bar, ‘a useful addition’.
