Good Hotel Guide Review
‘The food and setting were superb,’ says a visitor to this former olive mill located in the Serra de Tramuntara mountains near Sóller and its ‘Port’. The hotel, consisting of two adjoining fincas, stands in ‘lovely grounds with great views’ in the hills above Sóller. Old olive groves and an impressive infinity pool help guests to unwind. ‘The atmosphere is informal, with friendly staff,’ said the nominator, who found it ‘a delightful spot to get away from it all’. Public rooms are stylish: a Moorish theme adds ‘panache’. A deluxe bedroom, with rustic furnishings had ‘a good balcony with mountain and sea views’ and was quiet. ‘Good bathroom: huge tub and walk-in shower.’ The more modest rooms are ‘excellent value’. The lunch and dinner menus are ‘short but well balanced’. The young chef, Guillermo Moya Igarza offers a blend of traditional Majorcan and Mediterranean dishes. ‘Breakfast, on one of many beautiful terraces, had fresh fruit, pastries, local cheeses & meats and all kind of eggs being served ‘au-minute’. The hotel has been recently renovated, and there are now two cottages, with private entrances and gardens.
