Good Hotel Guide Review
A ‘most relaxing’ small, hotel composed of two white villas in a residential area of this popular, ‘if not particularly appealing’, resort. ‘Service is excellent,’ says a returning visitor. Others write: ‘Huge bedroom, wonderful bathroom, very private little terraces. Careful landscaping, ingenious water features and a cage of cheery canaries make it a peaceful oasis, though it stands on a main road.’ But another visitor advises: ‘Avoid the two bedrooms that face the road.’ The atmosphere is ‘intimate but laid-back’, and the hotel is ‘beautifully furnished and maintained’: ‘lots of Spanish paintings and antiques; a particularly nice lounge’. There is an indoor restaurant this year for evening meals, and a new chef, Ben Hagen he offers an extensive à la carte menu. In the grounds are two swimming pools; the poolside bar serves ‘good lunchtime snacks’. Breakfast, taken outdoors on fine days, has a comprehensive cold buffet; hot dishes cooked to order; ‘best fresh juice ever’. ‘Many guests are English, and middle-aged’: a small number of children are allowed, but it’s not a particularly child-friendly hotel. Two minutes’ walk away is a rock/sand beach.
