Good Hotel Guide Review
In quiet street in the small village of Oucques is this small hotel/restaurant (Logis de France, Michelin Bib Gourmand) owned by chef M. Lanchais: ‘He and his wife are warm and friendly. Our large second-floor room was huge, with good bathroom,’ say nominators. A recent refurbishment has lifted the 1970s feel of the reception and rooms into something more modern, although quirky: some rooms are in green and pink, or red and yellow, and the reception is now a bright and vibrant pink and red. A talking parrot is a new addition. A big draw is the modern food, likened to Michelin-star quality at Bib Gourmand prices. ‘Dinner well balanced, beautifully presented; sensible wine list. Traditional breakfast, very adequate,’ said a visitor. The souffles, available at a surcharge on the menu, are well worth the extra expense. Meals are taken on the terrace on sunny days. There’s a shop, too, selling fruit syrups, liqueurs, wine, beer, Bohemian crystals, and macaroons.
