Good Hotel Guide Review
Near the famous château of this well-known wine town on the Vienne, this B&B is a delightful place to stay. It has new owners, Jamie and Jean-Pierre Dagneaux. The fine old building (15th-century, remodelled in the 18th) is full of character: a spiral stairway on the facade leads to a wrought iron balcony. At the communal breakfast (served in summer in the garden, under an olive tree), over 50 kinds of home-made conserves, from fig and banana jam to lavender jelly, are served. The bedrooms vary in style and size. Some are beamed; some face a road; some may be a little dark ; some, ‘light and modern’, are in the courtyard. Bathrooms are ‘spotless’. For meals, the Oceanic specialises in seafood.
