Good Hotel Guide Review
This sumptuous and elegant hotel is located on Via Veneto, the street that formed the backdrop to Fellini’s classic movie “La Dolce Vita”, and close to the Piazza di Spagna, Villa Borghese and Via Condotti. The grand lobby features expanses of Italian marble, Murano glass chandeliers and decorative statues; rooms have original art deco styling such as lampshades and side tables, and patterned silk wallpaper, gilded mirrors, high ceilings and marble bathrooms. A visitor in 2015 found ‘a very comfortable bed, and a good bathroom’. Some guests found the lighting a bit dim. Rooms on the higher floors have balconies with views over the city. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of variety, ‘including a bottle of champagne to help yourself to’ and the hotel’s restaurant, Brunello, serves modern Mediterranean fare.
