Good Hotel Guide Review
This chic little boutique hotel, which calls itself ‘Rooms in Rome’, is managed by Marco Fiduli. Just off the elegant via dei Condotti, and close to the lively Piazza di Spagna, it was opened by its Sicilian owners in 2008. ‘Glamorous in an understated way’, it combines fine paintings and fabrics, antiques and fresh flowers, with all manner of hi-tech gadgetry and free Wi-Fi. There are original wooden ceilings and parquet floors. No breakfast or room service, but a kitchenette for guests’ use has a Nespresso coffee machine and a fridge with complimentary cold drinks and beer, and each bedroom has a tea/coffee tray; upgraded rooms have private kitchenettes. Plenty of cafés are nearby. Double glazing cuts out street noise. Each guest is given a key to the house on checking in, and the ‘very helpful’ multilingul staff are on duty from 8.30 am to 6 pm. Many of Rome’s famous sites are within easy walking distance. ‘You feel at home,’ guests have remarked. Children are welcomed (under-threes stay free).
