Good Hotel Guide Review
‘Wonderfully situated’ in a quiet village high above the Inn valley, the Meisser family’s spruce yellow-painted hotel dates from 1658. The atmosphere is ‘homely’ (books, magazines, family photos in the lounge). Visitors were enthusiastic: ‘Benno Meisser was most helpful,’ one wrote. Bedrooms in the main building were renovated in 2014 and are alpine in style, with wood panelled walls and stylish furnishings. ‘Our rooms were comfortable and quiet.’ ‘Ours had a balcony and superb views.’ ‘Our suite in the annexe Chasa Pepina, across the street, had panelled walls and ceiling, some lovely antiques, a smart bathroom.’ The Jugendstil dining room, once a hay barn, has tall windows and bare floorboards; there is a panoramic à la carte restaurant. One visitor found the en pension menu ‘excellent, with good choice’ and the food in general is considered to have improved a great deal in the past few years. Two terraces have parasols and awnings — grills and snacks are served in summer; two wide lawns have loungers.
