This “most attractive building” is in a quiet residential area just outside Sarlat: “a peaceful and beautiful setting”. It is a part 13th-century hunting lodge, “truly romantic”. “Dinner and breakfast both excellent. The welcome was warm on a chilly night,” says a visitor. The bedrooms are in three old stone buildings around a pretty courtyard; they vary in size and lightness; many have old beams. “Our spacious room looked over neighbouring gardens to distant hills.” “Ours, beautifully decorated, had good furniture, plenty of wardrobe space, a large bathroom.” Meals are served in a 13th-century room with a “monumental fireplace” or in the garden, by candlelight.
