Good Hotel Guide Review
Michelin finds Michel Bougon’s extended 17th-century farmhouse in the Périgord Nord near Sarlat, ‘ravishing’ and tells of its ‘ambiance cosy’. And a nominator found it, in good weather, ‘a perfect place to do nothing’. Surrounded by fields and woods, it is ‘very pleasant, totally quiet’. Many of the bedrooms have a terrace, some have old beams, most have antiques; the best one, Prestige, has a fireplace. ‘Our room had a shower, and an extra bed in a gallery. Breakfast [with home-baked breads and home-made jams] was on a shaded area by the large swimming pool which has good views.’ There is a ‘nice lounge’. The ‘family atmosphere’ is liked. ‘An excellent restaurant is just down the lane, there are two in the village, two kilometres away, and Les Eyzies-de-Tayac is an easy ten-minute drive.’
