Good Hotel Guide Review
This restored neo-classical mansion, originally built by a wealthy 19th-century sea captain, is now a sympathetic and ‘exquisite’ B&B hotel. It’s located on the picturesque waterfront of Yialos (the lower town) of the lovely little port/capital of Simi, the small island between Rhodes and the Turkish coast. Rooms have ‘tasteful decor’ and wooden parquet flooring; superior ones have sea views, but standard doubles are often small and dark. There’s a garden and roof terrace with fine views, as well as an airy lounge and bar. The hotel owns the expensive Italian restaurant next door, La Vaporetto, which has tables with parasols by the waterfront. Breakfast isn’t exceptional for the price. There’s ladder to the water for bathing. ‘Friendly staff.’
