Good Hotel Guide Review
On a hill above the capital of this ‘traditional Greek island’, this ‘very attractive hotel’ (said the nominator) has been managed by Georgios Troullos for many years. Built in local style, ‘like a village within a village’, it is composed of four whitewashed buildings covered with bougainvillaea. It stands in large grounds with roses and white canvas chairs and sunshades, and has wide views across to the Aegean, the islands, and Mount Profitis Ilias. The good breakfasts, included in the room rate, taken on the ‘magnificent terrace’, are praised. Breakfast is ‘rich continental’ (cold meats, fruit, cereals, etc). The pool bar, open all day, provides drinks and snacks. The ‘good-sized’ bedrooms all have a balcony or terrace, and ‘Superior’ ones have a sitting area with sofa bed. Not suitable for the infirm: lots of steps. There is a bus service to the beaches (15–20 minutes’ drive).
