Good Hotel Guide Review
‘A wonderfully relaxed place,’ say visitors returning to this large, much-balconied hotel, by the water on the old Venetian harbour, is run by its ‘charming’ owner, Yannis Platsidakis. Earlier praise: ‘Incredibly quiet, in a marvellous position.’ ‘Very welcoming’, it has ‘happy and smiling staff’. ‘We slept with the windows open; the only sounds came from the odd fishing boat setting off.’ Rooms are decorated in a simple nautical style; as well as oak flooring, they have blackout blinds and soundproofing. Standard rooms can be on the small side; suites on the third floor have panoramic views. Breakfast (‘very good’), served outdoors or in the bedroom, has fresh juices, boiled eggs, cheese, avocados and yogurt. Drinks and snacks are available in the café/bar, with tables on a waterfront terrace. There is a walled garden. Dozens of tavernas around.
