Located at the top of La Rambla, and five minutes’ walk from Plaza Catalunya, is this former hostal turned into small, inexpensive hotel. ‘Strongly recommended: unprepossessing entrance, friendly English-speaking staff; absolute quiet,’ wrote one reviewer. Bedrooms are spacious and air-conditioned, with fridges and ‘spotless linen’; bathrooms have power showers. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the street. Breakfast is a buffet served in the restaurant, Cullera de Boix, which specialises in rice dishes, eg, paella.
