Good Hotel Guide Review
‘Well located, a few miles away from the busy A6’, this restaurant-with-rooms (Logis de France) run by Cyrille Joubery and his wife, is recommended by a visitor for ‘peaceful nights and fabulous meals, all at reasonable prices’. The quietest bedrooms are in a ‘bungalow’ around ‘a pleasant flowery garden with a pond’; others are on two storeys (no lift) in the old main building. Regional specialities are served in the ‘light, modern, semi-conservatory dining room’ or in the garden under a 200-year-old plane tree. The village, near Tournus, is the ‘French equivalent of Hay-on-Wye, full of bookshops’. The local website describes it as a ‘village du livre’, and it holds a book fair on the first Sunday of August and September. It also has its own ‘Eden Project’, le Centre Eden, dedicated to the nature and environment of Burgundy.
