Good Hotel Guide Review
The exterior of this family-run hotel – which consists of two gabled and half-timbered buildings – is just as picturesque as the location, on the much-photographed Rozenhoedkaai canal, just three minutes’ walk from Market Place in the heart of Bruges. The rooms tend to be on the small size, which is not uncommon in such buildings; if you’d like a little more space spring for a ‘Classic’ or ‘Superior’, with a view of the canal and/or the historic town. The rooms all retain their period features and are decorated with period antiques, gorgeous objects d’art, Persian carpets and Ralph Lauren fabrics, as well as marble bathrooms. Breakfast is served in a handsome 17th-century room with antiques, wood beamed ceilings and modern artworks, which is also a tea room; there’s no restaurant on-site but the hotel owns and manages a Flemish-French restaurant a short walk away.
