Good Hotel Guide Review
The Hotel de Orangerie, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, is up there with the best of them when it comes to hotels in Bruges. With a wonderfully central and picturesque location on the Den Dijver canal, this restored 15th-century former cloister is run by Manon and Julie Vermast. Furnishings include antiques, tapestries and oil paintings, and breakfast can be taken in either the gorgeous oak-panelled dining room with a fireplace or on the seasonal terrace overlooking the canal. There’s also a salon with canal views, and High Tea is served; there’s no restaurant but plenty of options close by. The rooms are named after important Flemish artists and are small but charming.
