Good Hotel Guide Review
The Sersale family’s summer home was turned into this spectacular hotel in 1951, and is still run by the descendants of the original brothers. The hotel combines the charm of a private home with the amenities of a modern hotel, and most rooms look out onto Positano Bay and have terraces or balconies (those without views overlook an interior courtyard). Marble bathrooms with whirlpool baths, Frette linens and toiletries with the hotel’s own fragrance further enhance the luxury feel of the hotel. The restaurant’s young chef, Matteo Temperini, has a Michelin star for the hotel’s La Sponda restaurant; the menu specialises in Neopolitan classics with a lighter, more modern interpretation. There is also a pool terrace serving lunch and a champagne and oyster bar on another terrace with spectacular views.
