‘Wholeheartedly recommended’ by Guide readers, this elegant four-star B&B hotel is on six floors, with lovely terraces and splendid views (‘even from the bathrooms’), and located high above the sea (there are 300 steps down to lovely Incanto beach). Founded by Giuseppe Vespoli, at one time the mayor of Positano, the hotel is now run by his grandchildren. Standard rooms have partial sea views, but all rooms have their own terrace or patio, and superior rooms and suites are bigger in size. A honeymoon suite has a jacuzzi on the balcony. The restaurant uses local and organic produce where possible, but the breakfast buffet has been described as limited, with eggs and bacon costing extra. Other visitors have found the beds hard and some rooms in need of renovation. ‘Charming staff,’ and a big plus is the beautiful infinity pool and billion dollar views.
