Good Hotel Guide Review
A bit of a walk from Capri’s small main square, Piazza Umberto, in a pleasant residential area, this small modern villa is ‘stylish, efficient and vertiginous’, says a visitor this year. Earlier guests wrote of its ‘personal atmosphere and pleasant staff’. Owned by Vincenzo Brunella and his wife, it stands in a flowery garden. ‘A series of beautiful rooms and suites, each with terrace, most with spectacular views, cascades down a steep hill towards the sea.’ ‘There were 80 steps down from the entrance to the deluxe room where we spent three nights. It was excellent, spacious, with two trees and comprehensive bathroom.’ The restaurant, with panoramic dining terrace, serves traditional Caprese dishes. Breakfast is taken by the swimming pool. Porters will collect guests’ luggage from the boat. ‘Beyond the Brunella is only one hotel and then just the spectacular south coast.’
