Good Hotel Guide Review
In the foothills of the Vosges mountains, overlooking the highest village on the Alsatian wine trail, is this large, modern, Scandinavian-style hotel. Public rooms are light, and the “very friendly” Dutch owners, Karin and Lucas de Jong, have brightened up the “slightly institutional” long corridors and expanses of bare concrete with Oriental prints, and pictures by members of their family. “It is good for visitors with children,” says a report (large indoor pool, games room, good walking and biking nearby). Other reporters “had a comfortable and enjoyable stay”. In the restaurant, Au Sapin Doré, which has a heated terrace (with views over the Rhine plain) for alfresco meals, “the good, basic food” is accompanied by local wines. The split-level bedrooms, each with lounge and south-facing terrace, are spacious. The buffet breakfasts are admired. There are extensive conference/function facilities, and coach parties are accommodated. Charming villages are close by.
