Good Hotel Guide Review
Run by Anne-Sophie Heitzler with a “helpful staff”, this modern hotel is a conversion of three half-timbered Renaissance buildings in Colmar”s beautiful Petite Venise area. It has a four-storey spiral staircase, contemporary furniture and modern art works including a sculpture by England”s David Jacobson. The “excellent” buffet breakfast includes fresh orange juice and charcuterie. The “very good central location”, on a cobbled street, means that nearby parking is difficult (the two garages in a stable must be reserved in advance), and the bedrooms, apart from the four that face the courtyard, hear street noise. There is double glazing, but some visitors found the air-conditioning insufficient in very hot weather. Other visitors wrote: “Our room was large, well furnished, with a good bathroom.” No restaurant: plenty nearby. Aux Trois Poissons, medium priced, is liked for its seafood, and JY”S (Michelin star), round the corner, is also recommended.
