In a wonderful setting’, on a cliff, this upmarket B&B, ‘a peaceful oasis’, has glorious views of sea, sky, beach and the rugged coast of the western Algarve. The multilingual owner, Dolly Schlingensiepen, and her staff ‘could not be more kind and attentive’, says the Guide’s illustrator. ‘From the moment you enter the wrought iron gates, you know you are somewhere special. There is an air of tranquility; life here is stress-free.’ Bedrooms have ‘everything you could want’: superb beds, fridge, fruit, air-conditioning, satellite TV’ and free Wi-Fi. All 5 rooms are located on the ground floor. Each of them has the same space reserved (sun umbrella, 2 chairs, 1 table, 2 lounge-chairs and beach towels) on the big terrace with the swimming pool facing the sea side. All rooms have views into a garden. Four of them are located to the sea side and one to the garden side. A path leads to a quiet, sandy beach.
