Good Hotel Guide Review
The Chambers family run their unpretentious, family-friendly hotel in a 19th-century house set in expansive grounds a short stroll uphill from the boats in the harbour. Walls in the clubby, recently refurbished La Collinette bar and restaurant display black-and-white photos of the island’s history and sporting links. Upstairs, bedrooms are bright, simply decorated, and most have sea views. Uncomplicated dishes, perhaps with Guernsey lobsters and scallops, are served in the restaurant; in good weather, you can eat outside on the poolside terrace. Visit the German Naval Signals HQ, in former bunkers under today’s self-catering accommodation, then head to the historic Candie Gardens.
